Among the findings, heating oil emerged as the most economical fuel for domestic households in the UK and Ireland. However, the focus is now shifting towards the environmental impact of these fuels, prompting a closer look at renewable liquid fuels as a more sustainable alternative.

Heating Oil: An Economic Choice for Homes

The Sutherland Tables reveal that heating oil is currently the most cost-effective option for heating domestic households in the UK and Ireland. While this data specifically pertains to consumer markets, it doesn't necessarily reflect the situation in commercial applications. With this in mind, there is a growing awareness of the need for more eco-friendly alternatives in the residential heating sector.

Renewable Liquid Fuels: A Green Transition

The potential of renewable liquid fuels lies in the ability to enable homeowners using a fuel oil tank to make a seamless switch to a more environmentally friendly option with lower carbon emissions.
