Mer to Assist The AA Electrifying First Response Vehicles
Mer UK, the EV charging firm, has announced its support for The AA in its efforts to electrify its breakdown vehicles. This partnership will aid the AA's plan to transition its patrol vans to electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its decarbonisation strategy. Mer UK will play a crucial role by facilitating the parking of e-vans overnight at residential properties and installing home charging infrastructure.
The AA has a specific requirement for EV chargers that are compatible with Mina Homecharge, a software platform ensuring that employees do not have to pay for charging their work vehicles at home, with the charging costs directly billed to the employer.
Simon Ungless, the AA's group fleet manager, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, stating that they needed a partner who could simplify and streamline the entire process for their drivers. Mer proved to be that partner, offering an end-to-end solution covering everything from procurement and installation to service and repair. All installations so far, including Mr. Ungless's own, have been seamless and trouble-free.
Emma Spark, head of business charging at Mer, expressed pride in supporting the AA's initiative to deploy all-electric first response vehicles. She emphasised that they understand the EV charging procurement and installation process thoroughly, and as an independent provider, they can surpass standard installations for the AA. Mer supplied the appropriate charging infrastructure for the AA's drivers and went the extra mile by providing additional integration capabilities for the business.
