Gridserve Achieve Significant Milestone

In 2023, Gridserve has achieved a significant milestone by installing over 100 high-power charge points. This achievement coincides with the unveiling of their latest Electric Super Hub at Abbey Retail Park in St Ives, conveniently situated near the A141 and A14 roads.

At the new site, six high-power chargers, boasting a remarkable 350kW capacity, have been set up. These chargers cater not only to local drivers but also to those visiting the food outlets at the retail park. What's remarkable is that all of these chargers are powered by 100% net-zero carbon energy derived from Gridserve's innovative hybrid solar and battery farms.

To facilitate a seamless electric vehicle charging experience for customers, all Gridserve locations are equipped with CCS and CHAdeMO connectors. These charging points also accept contactless payments and provide real-time updates on their availability through various popular EV charging maps.

The progress made by Gridserve is remarkable: since 2021, they have introduced 26 Electric Super and Retail Hubs, each housing over 200 chargers. This momentum continued into 2022 with the installation of more than 100 chargers within a year. Impressively, in the first seven months of 2023 alone, they have once again achieved this milestone, with more installations still to come. Currently, Gridserve has over 50 High Power charger locations in various stages of readiness – opened, awaiting energization, or under construction. This translates to an addition of over 400 High Power charge points on the Gridserve Electric Highway.

Gridserve's CEO, Toddington Harper, expressed his excitement about hitting the 100 High Power charger mark this year, underscoring the pace and dedication of their teams in establishing a robust charging network for the UK. He affirmed their commitment to maintaining this momentum throughout the remainder of 2023 and beyond.

Nick Sutton of Abbey Retail Park shared his satisfaction with the development, highlighting the ongoing challenge for some electric vehicle drivers to find such high-power chargers locally. He warmly welcomed Gridserve to the park and its contribution to resolving this issue.
