Elddis Makes Transport More Efficient to Meet Fuel Costs

Elddis Transport is focusing more on their efficiency of their vehicles to accommodate for the high fuel prices that are still a huge issue as they are hauliers largest cost.

Elddis will have a new shipment of 10 new Actros trucks in June from Bell Truck and Van alongside their existing 20 Euro V trucks. They found that when testing the Euro V against the new Euro VI, which is available from June 2013, that the new Mercedes-Benz Euro VI was considerably more fuel efficient than the Euro V. However, Elddis have opted for the Euro V version and believes that it delivers greater mpg efficiency than the newer version.

Managing Director of Elddis Nigel Cook said that he welcomed the fuel duty rise cancellation from the Budget last month, but that the government need to do more to help tackle the issue, as fuel is still a major issue within the industry.
