Fuel Price Increase Cancelled

Winter involves a lot of expense: Heating bills, Christmas food/ gifts and travel, but FairFuelUK was delighted to inform their supporters today that increased fuel would not be on that list. Instead of having our fuel increased by 3p per litre next January, which was the proposed plan, the idea has been cancelled by the Chancellor and treasury.

MP’s and ministers have cancelled the proposed Fuel Duty Hike thanks to the campaign from FairFuelUK. These plans could have caused more damage to our economy as well as costing approximately 35,000 jobs and could have hindered the recovery of our already fragile economy. FairFuelUK’s Quentin Wilson said “The cancellation of the 3p rise completely is a welcome surprise, but the fight for fairer pricing goes on for the sake of hard pressed businesses, the public and to stimulate growth in the economy”.

A Fuel Duty review will take place in September 2013 so instead of panicking customers at this expensive time of year; they can breathe a sigh of relief at the prevention of this fuel rise.
