The directors of Commercial Fuel Solutions were delighted to be invited as VIP guests to the Motor Transport Awards 2011, a black tie event held at London’s prestigious Grosvenor House on Park Lane yesterday evening.

This year seen the award’s celebrating their 25th anniversary in greater style than ever before, with leading comic Michael McIntyre presenting the first of the evenings awards for Innovation and Environment (amongst others). The 1500 strong crowd revelled in laughter as McIntyre delivered an outstanding performance keeping everyone very entertained for the first half of the evening.

Later, Tiswas legend and host of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ Chris Tarrant stepped up to present the remaining awards which including seeing the Mercedes-Benz Axor snatch the Fleet Truck of the Year from 6 year reigning champions DAF’s CF85.  

After the award ceremony finished, Commercial Fuel News took a moment to catch up with Motor Transports Editor, Mr Steve Hobson at the Ballroom after party to thank him for a fantastic and very entertaining evening.

AW Energy Launches Renewable-Powered EV Charging Hub, Cutting Costs by 50%

AW Energy has officially launched its new ultra-rapid charging station at Checkley Wood, near Leighton Buzzard, offering a significant reduction in charging costs for electric vehicle (EV) owners. The station is powered by renewable energy generated through wind turbines, allowing the company to offer ultra-rapid charging at just 39p per kWh—nearly 50% less than the industry average of 80p per kWh, according to Zap Map’s September Price Index.
