Pirates take control of Saudi owned oil tanker

Yes you read it correctly, Pirates have taken control of a Saudi owned oil tanker in the East African sea, 450 nautical miles southeast of Mombasa, Kenya.

The US Navy, who is currently monitoring the situation, has reported that 25 crew members from Croatia, Britain, the Philippines, Poland and Saudi Arabia were on board at the time. As yet no rescue plan has been mentioned.

This is not the first time the pirates have struck here however it is the first time they have seized an oil tanker. The pirate’s presence has made this route among the most dangerous in the world.
