Retail Hauliers Enjoy Retail Growth

Despite the fuel price crisis, Summer 2008 saw a moderate growth in retail markets outside of the food and produce sector.

According to figures received by a national statistics firm, there was an overall increase of about 1.2%.

The products which contributed to the overall increase on last years figures were textiles, clothing and footwear which pushed expectations by managing a 4.2% gain.

Collectively retailers in the homewear and high street fashion sectors showed an encouraging 2.5% growth on average.
