The freight transport association (FTA) is arguably one of the highest profile trade association within the haulage industry, representing both freight customers as well as providers.

Heavily involved in the translation of EU legislation into domestic law, it is safe assume that we have all benefitted from their involvement in the industry.

The FTA offer a wide range of services on both a regional and national level, including vehicle inspection, tachograph analysis and similar compliance services.

Director Geoff Dossetter states “the FTA has always been good at identifying what it is members want and then supplying that into in an operator friendly manner…” he continues, “The vehicle inspection service is a good example of where the FTA identified a change in licensing would put a greater onus onto fleet opertors to ensure road worthiness.”
