Scotland Backs Hydrogen Future with £3.4 Million Investment in 11 Groundbreaking Projects

Scotland has taken a bold step forward in its journey toward a Net Zero future, announcing a £3.4 million investment across 11 domestic hydrogen projects aimed at boosting production, storage, and transportation capabilities across the country. The funding is part of a broader strategy to establish hydrogen as a key driver of Scotland’s clean energy transition and economic growth. Acting Net Zero Cabinet Secretary Gillian Martin emphasised the importance of hydrogen, calling it “one of Scotland’s greatest industrial opportunities since the discovery of oil and gas in the North Sea.” Leading the pack is Green Cat Hydrogen, which secured nearly £500,000 for its Creca Hydrogen Facility in Dumfries and Galloway.
